Day whatever in Halifax

ha.. i m reading tuesday w/ morrie now.
n i read like 30 pages last night already when i was taking a hot bath... =P

i agreed w/ hello kevin that my tears just like tap when i read up to eddie meeting his wife.

tonight i have to work hard on practising my talk at 8am(!!!) and can't do much else as i have to impress my audience ma... =D

seafood.. hmmmmm i had a seafood casserole the first evening and fish n chips last night w/ a GUY kicking the table legs.
but i m going to eat by myself tonight la...
no lobster yet. i need sponsors... =D

last week's reading

i just kept reading it on the bus last week even though i was very busy w/ work. and i can't believe that i finish it in 3 days!
i like the story.
i learnt 5 lessons.
i can't believe that i just read it now as it's published back in 2003!
but i m glad i didn't miss it.
does anyone of u know if it's a spiritual book?
or.. just a novel..?

$200 refund!

thank God n thanks to those who push me to ask for the $$ back.
now i got the refund for my MBP.
the $$.... is actually.... going to my dad's pocket.. not mine... =P
don't take me wrong that i m not the one who paid for the computer.
i bought it w/ my signing bonus.
but i used my dad's credit card for it and i m not going to ask my dad to return that amount to me.
as.. i didn't pay the full price... anyway...

done!

yes.. after a month of hard work to get a single data.
yes.. finally submitted the correction on the paper.
yes.. i'll have another publication!

still more things to go...

i should finish my talk for the conference b4 i leave.

i should start writing my thesis.

my mom's production

my mom's "kit jok" on my father's head....
hahaha.. i can't stop laughing... that my dad looks like "gum mo c wong"....

mom got hurt

mom slid a few stairs n fell on her pat.
i heard her voice but i can't tell whether she's crying or laughing..
u know.. sometimes.. it sounds the same.
then she sat on the stairs.
i helped her to put the vacuum cleaner back to garage AND, she's still sitting there.
then i told her, "mom, nei yiu chi gay kay fan hey sun (u have to get up by yourself) (sound like after a big failure =P) coz...... no one in this house can lift u up ah...."
then my mom n i both burst into laughter...

then my dad sat beside my mom n hugged my mom n told me that my mom will sleep on the stairs tonight.... bring them a big blanket...
of cos.. my mom can't stop laughing again...

n then... my dad told me the truth, "your mom.. is just too lazy n tired to get up. she just sat there n rest g ma...."
ooo..... icic... that's how "naughty" my mom was... jar gil?

this morning, mom got some bruises on her toe n her thigh.

mac book

sigh.. can't believe that the new mac book is released right after i bought my mac book pro!!!!
i've checked w/ the bookstore n they said no refund n asked me to talk to the apple store
called the apple store n they said it's the local retail store's issue...
ARRRR!!! just keep passing the responsibility to each other!!!

n the new mac book is so nice n pretty.. and way cheaper!!!
sigh.. how come it always happen to me!?
last time when i bought the ibook, the new version came out 2 weeks after i got it!!!
this time.. again!?

n... will u spend $200 to get the black version instead of the white??

i m so happy to have a chance to meet my collegue's parents and go to her house.
kelowna is her home town. n i felt like meeting local people!
i didn't talk to them much. just hi n bye. but i felt very warm.
when i saw y collegue's mom hugging her daughter when they met...
n kissing her daughter on her way out....
yeah.. that's how they express their love..
n.... i m glad to c the love b/t the family.

dunno y i can't get into the drinking group.
i'll just sit n listen. well.. talk... a little bit la...
maybe english is still not my mother tongue that i can't express myself w/ it easily.
maybe it's not my style of communication.
maybe i still don't understand their culture.

yet, i do enjoy the time w/ the girls though we will drink together.
but they never force me to n respect that i don't drink... sometimes.
i like to talk to a person at a time... the time that we can talk deeply n shared deeply of our personal feelings.
a group of 4 is also ok... more than that? hmmmm we'll start to "foon hin" each other. n won't share honestly in front of many people... n... will just joke around...

i guess there's really a hole in their heart that is needed to be filled by God...

look how much alcohol they have consumed....

hk... an abbreviation which i know since i was in kindergarten.
many of u probably realize that hk = hong kong.
n last year, the first mr. hk was "born" in TVB contest.

last year, a friend of mine told me that she saw a very pretty hk.
i was like... hk? hong kong? very pretty? mr. hk?....
alright.. then she explains..... hk.... a short form of hello kitty....

last month, a new friend of mine like to sign his email as "hk"......
do u think this mr. hk is the mr. hong kong (i guess he's too old for the contest...)

tea

last night.. when i couldn't fall asleep, i wrote it.
but then my ibook froze n didn't go thru...

i love tea.
my home used to have fresh tea made every day when i was in hk.
i've done a project on tea leaves.
i like the smell, the taste and the arts of tea.
different tea has different taste and give u different feeling.
i m not that picky n i won't dislike any kind of tea... even though they r very crappy.
i think tea is a very chinese drink. till i move to vancouver.
n discover western tea n african tea... which.. are not bad.
tea can solve your thirsty and green tea is good for health too.
i think my body can only take up to a certain amount of caffeine.
once u reach that limit, the effect will get on u..... can't sleep!!!
last night... enjoying the nice rose milk tea.... then i couldn't sleep till 2.... n wake up at 7....
arrrr......... tired...

hot

my lab has been at 25 degree for a week.
in order to raise the temperature, the air ventilation just kept blowing hot air out.
n so i bought a new tee last friday.
i guess the plant ops people finally realize that they should do sth w/ it.
n so today, the whole system is down!!!
the lab gets cooler... but... it generates a vacuum that we can't open the lab door!!!
..........

when i was working very hard, 2S delivered a pudding bubble tea to ubc even though one S had a stomache.

when i need someone to cry with in a movie, LL went w/ me and ended up almost throw up.

when i was late for work, CC drive a long way from richmond to almost ubc area to pick me up and back to richmond for class.
