Mandy: Oh it's chinese new year this weekend and the hong kong people are going to have 3 days of holiday till wednesday!
Mom: yeah... so, do u need to go to school on monday? it's chinese new year!

my mom finally stopped asking me such questions this year.... and I bet she commented that, "oh great, luckily lin chor 1 is a sunday, better than on a weekday."

my parents do countdown for chinese new year, but not the western new year, haha!!!
